Wedding Dress Guidelines produced by Hip Weddings.com for their clients and brides2b. What is your shape?

YOUR FIGURE:
Will Asymmetric wedding dresses suit you?
Asymmetric designs will divert attention from bigger bottoms to your upper body. If you are curvy, asymmetric styles with full skirts will balance your shape. Pretty asymmetric strap details will soften square shoulders. Finally, hemlines will show off lovely legs.
Will a Corset suit you?
If you are a pear shaped, corsets will emphasise your hips so avoid them. They are great if you are curvy and want to enhance your bust. A corset will not suit athletic shapes as you need to taper at the waist. If you are petite, a corset will emphasise your small waist and give you more of a bust.
Will strapless wedding dresses suit you?
Strapless A line gowns draw attention to the arms and the emphasis away from larger hips and tummies, so they're great for curvy figures. If you are atheletic, a strapless dress will show-off your toned shoulders. Strapless dress will suit your tiny frame if you are petite
Will a full skirt suit you?
If you are pear shaped, a full skirt will make your hips look larger and should be avoided. Don't hide your atheletic figure in a full skirt. If you are curvy, a full skirt will hide any imperfections. Avoid a very full skirt if you are petite, as it will swamp you.
Will long sleeves suit you?
If you are pear shaped, long sleeves will draw attention to your upper body. Long sleeves will conceal larger arms. Don't cover lovely toned arms with long sleeves. If you are petite, wide voluminous sleeves will overwhelm you.
Will bias cut wedding dresses suit you?
If you are pear shaped, avoid biased-cut gowns which will cling to your hips. Bias-cut dresses will show every imperfection of a curvy figure. If you are atheletic, a bias cut dress will show-off a slim fit silhouette. Bias-cut gowns show-off petite frames beautifully.
Will halterneck dresses suit you?
If you are curvy with a big bust, a halterneck will make you look top heavy, Atheletic shapes look great in halternecks as the style shows off toned arms. If you are petite, the long halterneck shape will give you height. Halternecks emphasise bigger bottoms so avoid them if you're pear shaped.
Will separates suit you?
Separates emphasise waists and hips so don't flatter pear shapes. Fuller tummies don't look good if the midrift is showing. If you are atheletic, separates will show off a toned waistline. Separates will break up the line of your body and make you look shorter.
Will long trains suit you?
If you are pear shaped, trains will lengthen your body and make your hips look smaller. Long trains will also make curvy bodies appear longer and more svelte. If you are atheletic, a long train will enhance your slim figure. Short trains will suit petite figures, but very long ones tend to overwhelm them.
In summary:
THE EIGHT STYLES OF WEDDING DRESSES
Empire Line
The waistline starts just beneath the bust and is normally defined by a seam. great for smaller busted brides and the raised waist creates a long line which is also ideal for petite brides.
Strapless
Baring the shoulders suits most figures but looks particularly good on curvy brides, especially if they have defined shoulders and arms.
Ballerina
Perfect style for fairytale brides, close fitting bodice with a full skirt, often made of tulle, is regarded as most romantic of all dress shapes. VCorset and Skirt
Work wonders for brides who are not standard size (e.g. larger bust in comparison to your lower body).
Column Dress
Very straight and seamed on the waistline. This style gives a streamlined appearance and can work well with pregnant brides, as well as tall slim-hipped women.
A-Line
Versatile and suitable for a variety of fabrics, making it flattering to many figures. A-shaped i.e. narrow bodice accompanied by wider skirt. Great for covering broad hips and flatters a small waist.
Princess
With afitted bodice that flares out slightly to the hemline. Similar to A-line, good for pear shaped brides.
Bias -cut
Most modern of all, and very flattering if worn by the right shape girl. the dress style is cut on the cross and is quite straight and figure hugging, often designed with a puddle train. Look best on very slim tall brides.
